The name ‘Tanah Lot’ means floating land in balinese language. It’s long natural process to be an island like today. The connected land (a cape) get erosion by sea wave for thousand years. It become big hole like you can see in the west of Tanah Lot. Then the junction crumbled and fall down. Then it looks like separated land, it looks like an island today.

    Hi,
Can i use the same entry ticket for another day?
Just in case if i can’t enter the temple on high tide situation.
    Thanks in advance.

      Hi,

You can not use the same ticket for another day.
When you enter Tanah Lot temple,
the officer will tear the entry ticket.
It means the entry ticket paper already broken.
You can not use it for another day.
      It’s not valid anymore.

Tanah Lot temple area seems to be one of those touristic must-sees, so expect it to be crowded, at least I have seen it being such, despite that weather was against the scenic sunset, the sun was swallowed by the clouds very fast.
If you plan on going there for the sunset – plan to spend a few hours before that – to discover the shore in the area, as once the sun is down, it gets dark really fast.
If the entrance ticket is too expensive – you can still admire the temple, looking from the nearby spots out of the temple territory.
You can get by taxi to the place, but to get out of there, you might need to walk pretty far away from the tourist area to be able to book another one.
Definitely combine the visit with the visit of Canggu area, if you stay in another part of the island. Make sure to start your adventure early enough.

Thank you for share your experience and the suggestion.
Yes, Tanah Lot temple is a must see temple in Bali.
It gets dark really fast, you need to arrive a few hours before sunset.

Yes, combine or if you stay in Canggu is more efficient.

Hmm, taxi must be an expensive option.
Otherwise, you can order online taxi such as Grab or Go-jek.
It more cheap than conventional taxi.

      1. Travellenka

taxi here refers to the online taxi and since the Canggu area was all about fighting against online tools by ‘other taxis’ that is why it is rather hard to book one from the site and you need to get out of the popular area.

        1. kunzbali Post author

          Well, it’s true.
Touristic place in Bali mostly not allow any online taxi to enter or pick up passenger.
That’s why you need to walk out from the popular area first.
