PORT OF BENOA BALI

– All Details to Know About Port of Benoa Bali –

WHAT IS PORT OF BENOA?

DESCRIPTION:

Port of Benoa was initiated in 1924 during Dutch colonization in Denpasar city. Then the working area and harbour map were set in Staadblad number 16, January 8th, 1926.

During the independence period, port of Benoa was useless since Indonesia government decided to use Singaraja city in Buleleng as capital of Bali province and Lessser Sunda islands. All the harbor activity was happened in Buleleng harbour. Benoa Harbor seems to have been forgotten at that moment.

In 1958-1960 Indonesia government decided to move the capital of Bali from Singaraja city to Denpasar city. This move was followed by the relocation of the main port from Buleleng port to port of Benoa. During this period it started as a distribution point in Bali.
