WHAT IS PENELOKAN VIEW POINT?
Penelokan view point is a the best view point to watch both Batur volcano and the lake. It’s also a best place to watch sunrise. On this view point you can see the crater and the caldera of Batur volcano.

WHEN THE BEST TIME TO VISIT PENELOKAN VIEW POINT?
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
- OPENING HOURS:
*) It’s an open area. Open 24 hours.
6.15 AM – 6.20 AM
*) Gradation of color start on 5.45 AM. The sunlight brighten the Mt Abang at this moment.
- SUNSET TIME:
6.40 PM – 6.45 PM.
*) The color gradation start on 5.45 PM. The sunlight brighten the Batur volcano at this moment. The Mt Batur looks very clear and detail.
*) Well, Penelokan is not the best place for watching sunrise actually. The sunrise position located in other side.
HOW MUCH IS PENELOKAN ENTRANCE FEE?
- GOVERNMENT TAX (Retribusi):
*) It applied on the day time only. On the night time, no ticketing man on the ticket window.
- UPDATE GOVERNMENT TAX (Retribusi):
IDR 50K (Per 1 January 2020).
- PENELOKAN ENTRANCE FEE:
*) Updated info: since Covid-19 period there is no government tax (retribution) applied. It’s free enter Kintamani area.

HOW TO GET TO PENELOKAN VIEW POINT?
There is no public transport to get there.
*) For backpacker i recommend you to rent a scooter to reach this view point and use google maps as your navigator.
**) There is no car parking area in the Penelokan, better you put your car in the Batur Geopark museum or in the cafe nearby.

*) Penelokan view point is the best spot to see the Batur volcano and the lake. It’s a short stop point to enjoy the the view and to make some nice pictures.
*) Update info: On my last visit, this place was under renovation and it still closed to any visitor. But, i jumped the fence to go to inside area. Well, today it looks more pretty actually.
PROS AND CONS:
- Awesome panorama view.
- Batur volcano, Mt Abang and lake view.
- Free entry.
- Good air quality.
- Nice place to take photos.
- Crowded on weekend/tourist season.
- No reliable public transport to here.
- The fog/haze cover the view.
- Annoying seller following you and keep offering.
- The weather change rapidly.
UPDATE STATUS OF PENELOKAN VIEW POINT:
OPEN FOR ANY VISITOR
*) Since March 21st, 2020 all destination in Bangli regency has been closed according to government instruction to avoid Corona spreads.
**) Since June 24th, 2020 the Regent of Bangli released policy about Non reactive Rapid test result for Kintamani highland visitor. Even all destination are not open yet, this policy already applied.
***) Since July 9th, 2020 (Bali New Normal) period, Kintamani highland has been officially open for tourist.
